The Managed Approach
Brief: Travel to a new and unfamiliar place, and create a corresponding visual response based on the findings gathered from that location and issue. I researched the impact of the ‘Managed Approach’ in Holbeck, Leeds. The Managed Approach was set-up as a solution to the long-standing issues of street sex work impacting Holbeck and the surrounding area.
Outcome: A illustrated vine that represents the different views of the residents and the sex workers in Holbeck. The illustrations were mono printed, edited in photoshop and risograph printed. The colours and layers of images were used to emphasise the divide and explore the narrative between day and night.
